Europe Swap trick (UP Soon)

OK here is a guide to patching & burning PS2 games. I in no way condone piracy or take any responsibility for the way you use this guide You must only do this if you you own the original game. As you are legally allowed to make one backup of a game you own, e.g. to prevent it from

Sorry if it seems a bit simple, but I want to make sure every one understood it.

Please don't e-mail me asking where you can get games or the programs for burning! As for FARGO you can get it here: DOWNLOAD FARGO click me.

1. You need a Mod chip fitted or have your PS2 modified for swap trick, for the patch to work & an original disk of the same region as your PS2, so JAP. PS2 you need JAP original disk to swap, got that good read on.

2. Take your original PS2 disk (not dvd as they need to be ripped & that isn't covered here) you can fined out if the disk you have is a dvd or CD by looking at the disk or box on the back it says dvd or compact disk, also the DVD disks are silver not blue.

3. You need to get CDRwin to make an image to your hard drive, Go to extract disk,

make image to hard drive be sure its on 2352 sector mode.

The image should now be on your hard drive lets say its in C:\imagename.bin (imagename is the name you gave your image).

Then go to DOS I recommend putting FARGO and the disk image in the same directory! OK where going to use the D:\ drive as an example

Type D:\ fargo imagname.bin (imagname.bin obviously is to long for the DOS name, so I typed the DOS name IMAGEB~1.BIN). FARGO can be used to patch the image to use any original disk to boot your backup, so to boot with JAP util disk that came with the first batch of JAP PS2's type PBPX_952.01 as shown bellow.

If you want to use another original disk to boot your backup put that disk in your CD drive & type D:\>fargo imagen~1.bin h (h is the letter of your CD drive for most this is D). see bellow

in the above example the original image was patched to use the JAP utill disk to boot (code PBPX_952.01) and was changed to boot with disk in CD drive d: which happened to be original JAP RR5 (code SLPS_200.25) now it must be swapped with original RR5 (code SLPS_200.25).

You image is patched & ready for burning. Move on to the next stage.

Open CDRwin an go to record disk.

Now that Record Disk box is open go to load cuesheet & open your imagname.cue, this will be with the imagname.bin file you made.

Then just press on Start Recording.

Your disk should now be recorded.

Take the recorded and the original disk that you decided to use as a boot disk.

Now I'm going to tell you how to do the disk swap assuming you have an 8 wire Modchip installed & working for the JAP PS2 model SCPH-10000.

If the chip is installed when you put the JAP original disk in it should start to boot & just after the initial screen with the moving blue lights the disk should eject, its still spinning so be careful you have about 4 or 5 seconds to take that disk out and put in your backup, it should then load. That's it.

If there any mistakes in this guide, please contact me. Click here to contact me.

Little tip get some of those disk shield things, there clear plastic fit on bottom of CD stops it scratching when its spat out still spinning.

Still having problems then read this section:

1. I have had people E-mail me and say I typed "D:\fargo IMAGEB~1.BIN PBPX_952.01" and the get an error saying image not found. YOU DON'T TYPE THE BITS IN RED ITS JUST AN EXAMPLE READ THE GUIDE properly!! PBPX_952.01 you type this if using the utill disk to boot with.

2. CDRwin if the wrong serial number, crack or patch is used, the program will run but will just burn garbage on the disk.

3. If you made an image with CDRwin, patched it & are having problems burning it back to disk it may be that your burner isn't supported buy CDRwin, try a program called FireBuner to burn the image to disk. I think its free just do a search for it on the net.
